Excursion Program

Preparation and Departure 🥾

The evening before the departure, Daman welcomes you for an information session. He presents the safari schedule, safety guidelines, and answers all your questions. The next morning, we leave the lodge in a 4x4. The vehicle is left at the park entrance, the starting point of our walking adventure.

Safari 🌄

We move slowly, attentive to every sign: fresh tracks, rustling leaves, bird calls… We visit watering holes and pause silently at trail intersections — strategic spots for wildlife observation.

Picnic in the Wild 🍴

At midday, we enjoy a pleasant lunch in the heart of nature — by the river or in a secluded clearing — always attentive to the life surrounding us.

Return & Final Discoveries 🚙

At park closing, just before sunset, you may choose to visit:

The crocodile breeding center
The elephant breeding center
The Tharu Culture Museum

We then return to the lodge, eyes still sparkling with wonder and hearts filled with unforgettable memories.

An authentic experience

Beyond the much-anticipated tigers, elephants, and rhinos, you may encounter playful otters, impressive crocodiles, or calm turtles along the riverbanks. In the forest or in clearings, keep your eyes open for jackals, deer, antelopes, and agile langurs and macaques.

A unique wild journey

We pause near watering holes, standing still and holding our breath. With a bit of luck, a tiger may come to drink. Fresh tracks, a deer’s alarm call, or a rustle in the foliage can all hint at the presence of wildlife, making every moment charged with anticipation.

The jungle is also a paradise for birdwatchers: bee-eaters, hornbills, kingfishers, fishing eagles, owls, drongos, barbet mynas, bulbuls, and many colorful species inhabit the canopy. Their calls echo through the trees, accompanying our walk.

A spectacular hike:

Daman and his assistant Sogut guided us on a full-day walking safari in Bardia National Park, after a jeep safari the day before. The photos speak for themselves — it was an incredible day filled with unforgettable wildlife encounters. Daman knows the park exceptionally well. He showed us tracks and signs, helping us spot a magnificent tiger, a rhinoceros, four otters, and many other animals. Excellent service, clear explanations, and impeccable attention to safety and comfort throughout the day. Once back home, I realized the tip we left wasn’t enough. I contacted Daman on Facebook to send an additional tip, and we’ve stayed in touch ever since. 🙂
